We had a very busy and productive Staff Week: set up the campsites, waterfront, Activity Field, rock climbing area and main camp area.  On top of that the 15 staff members that make up the 2016 Floodwood Staff were trained in many different areas related to operating a Boy Scout camp, including a Voyageur training trip later in the week.  Thanks to everyone for the help; long days, great attitudes, and the sense that we’re carrying on a proud 52-year tradition resulted in getting us ready for the first campers arriving on Sunday.

A view of our new Floodwood stickers adorning the door of our new vans.  These stickers are now also on the bow of each canoe that Floodwood sends out on trek.

We had some visitors during Staff Week and they were able to enjoy our Trading Post and all of the new products we’re offering.

Words aren’t required, what can’t he do?  Michael Wirth, a 2nd generation Floodwood Staffer, shouldering the responsibilities of Commissary Director and Rocks Director this summer.

We had 4 pairs of our rowing oars refurbished during the offseason, here are two ready for action at the waterfront.

Thanks to all that showed up for the Floodwood Association-sponsored work weekends in May and June.  Canoe racks were made and we’re putting them to good use!

Thanks to all that helped make Staff Week a huge success, we’re excited to host our first campers on Sunday!
